Knowledge & source documents
Import selected text and ask for answers tied to those sources.
WHEN IT HELPS
Put it to work.
Summarize specifications, compare project notes or prepare an answer that teammates can check against the original material.
Before you begin
- Permission to store and process the selected content.
- Plain text or a supported text file; extract text from a PDF before using this particular import flow.
WALK THROUGH IT
See the workflow, step by step.
Synthetic sample content, with simplified screens. No model call, upload, account change or paid task runs here.
Open Knowledge, enter a title, choose the project and source type, then paste text or select a text file.
Search Sources by title or excerpt. Open the source and choose Use this source in a task. Select only the documents required for the question.
Run a selected-source task from Home with an available model and consent. In Tasks & history, compare [S1]/[S2] statements with the selected originals.
Knowledge / Import selected source text
A REQUEST TO START WITH
Using only the selected sources, explain how sessions expire. Cite each source and say what cannot be determined from these files.
THE USEFUL RESULT
What you should leave with.
A reviewable answer with source markers and explicit uncertainty.
Know the boundaries.
- Current workspace imports allow up to 100 documents; a selected file is limited to 60 KB.
- A task accepts up to 8 sources totaling 60,000 characters. This is selected-source answering, not an automatic crawl of every company document.
IF SOMETHING DOESN’T WORK
The answer is incomplete or a file is rejected.
Use a smaller plain-text source, include the missing related file and keep the selection within the displayed limits. Never treat missing sources as inspected.
