Gonu in VS Code

Work with selected code, project context, native diffs and shared sessions inside the editor.

WHEN IT HELPS

Put it to work.

Explain a selection, investigate diagnostics or review a focused edit while keeping the actual files in view.

Before you begin

  • An approved local VSIX/source beta and a compatible VS Code version from its README.
  • A trusted repository, Gonu account and an available model.

WALK THROUGH IT

See the workflow, step by step.

Interactive example

Synthetic sample content, with simplified screens. No model call, upload, account change or paid task runs here.

  1. Install the supplied VSIX with Extensions → Install from VSIX, or use the source development instructions. Run Gonu: Sign In and approve the matching device code.

  2. Open the authorized folder. Use Gonu: Select Organization and Gonu: Select Model, then start a task from the sidebar or an editor command.

  3. Read the before/after diff before approving. Inspect task evidence or checkpoint recovery, and resolve conflicting unsaved buffers before edits.

THE USEFUL RESULT

What you should leave with.

Editor-native interaction with the same Agent/task system and explicit local file review.

Know the boundaries.

  • A public Marketplace listing is not promised here. Use the current beta installation path.
  • Shared session history does not transfer local files between machines. Selected model context still follows Gonu’s data flow.

IF SOMETHING DOESN’T WORK

A diff or restore is blocked.

Save or resolve the affected unsaved editor buffers, confirm the correct folder/session and request a fresh preview. Do not bypass a stale-file warning.
